Kate Cawley is the founder of Veris Strategies, an award-winning sustainability consultancy, and Future Food Movement. Partnering with leaders across the food industry - from retailers, foodservice, brands and manufacturers - Kate drives insight-led action on climate, health, and sustainability, aiming to make food a force for positive change. Kate’s focus is on challenging leadership mindsets and believes leaders need to think and act quite differently if we are to achieve an industry wide transformation. Kate founded Future Food Movement to boost business competency and confidence to act, bridging the gap from Boardroom to shop floor with a team of experts in climate, nutrition, public health, regenerative systems, behaviour change and governance, empowering the industry to drive meaningful action.

Future Food Movement

Future Food Movement launched in 2022 to tackle the climate emergency in the food and drink sector. It is a pioneering membership community to support and upskill the food industry to take action on the biggest challenge of our generation: climate + health.

It recognises that the whole food industry needs to more actively participate by unlocking human capital and capability to drive this forward. In order to do this successfully, the sector needs to upskill on a mass scale to overcome the competency and skills gap which is evident at all levels, from boardroom to shop floor.

The team includes registered nutritionists, public health experts, food system and climate leaders, regenerative agriculture and net zero specialists, plus next generation farmers and youth activists - representing the whole food value chain, with the ability to influence action on climate and health with a culturally relevant, commercial and hands on understanding.
